The Foundation for Humanity invites a new generation to the task that is great -- a return to respect with a new way of being.
A Walkabout at Yellow Hills
Ranch might encounter a flock of Sand Cranes.
All our
Walkabouts invite respect for the Earth. With Founder Circle's support, we plan to
build a large facility on the property where local, state, national and
international assemblies can convene and inspire stewardship for the planet. We
can rent a magnificent conference space 10 minutes from the Ranch for
conferences and gatherings until we build our own center on the property.
Supported by a great lodge, conferences on agricultural cooperation, sustainable technologies, action-learning education, permaculture, land regeneration strategies, wilderness survival training, ecological building practices, Walkabouts and group vision quests are expected to honor the native American philosophy of Mokoce Wakan--Sacred Earth. Our Walkabouts invite an ancient human understanding. Learning the Earth Whisper ways, you can speak to the Earth and she can speak back.
Millions of people representing every continent and culture share a concern that the Earth issue may be the defining issue for this generation. In the planet's threatened plant life, challenged animal kingdom, polluted oceans and troubled rivers, the Earth's colorful deserts, inspiring mountain summits and sheer awesome beauty make the return to an ancient understanding more relevant than ever. The Earth is not an inanimate object as many people believe.
Whenever people have lived close to the Earth, woke with the sun and gone to sleep with the sun's passing--where their lives deeply respected the cycles of nature--there was always the deepest respect for the Earth. Medicine men and women gave voice to that respect. Our mission is to inspire a new generation to re-discover and experience those forgotten ways. Drawing upon Earth elders, Earth councils, Earth Whisperers and Earth artists and inventors, our vision is to create a new human-Earth accord.
Every nation creates a culture holding its values and customs. The nation that nourishes respect as its culture unlocks an innate human potential able to send out an invisible effect. The power of respect to shape the world comes from its unconditional nature, an influence that quickly dissipates when turned on and off, giving respect to some while denying it to others. Where people offer respect unconditionally, a unique creativity enters the world. In a nation of respect, citizens embrace respect as their own deep purpose. Technologies are developed for their respect of nature and people.
Businesses are created out of understanding the value of constantly renewing the qualities from which respect grows, inspiring enterprises to become fertile soil for people to contribute without ulterior designs. Respect engages all people with curiosity. Where curiosity has replaced the need to make others wrong, the mind becomes natural. Where the mind is natural, separate aims fall away and people can accomplish the task that is great. The Foundation for Humanity invites a new generation to the task that is great--a return to respect through a new way of living.
