An Evening with Rennie Davis

National Tour: This American tour of colleges and universities appears at a time when humanity is faced with diverse global challenges—from wars in the Middle East to severe climate changes, global warming, eco-system degradation, terrorism and deep uncertainty in vast regions of the world. Now one of the most recognized and respected spokesmen of the 1960s decade challenges and inspires this generation to a new vision. Philosophical, wise and unexpected, an evening with Rennie Davis is a journey into the deepest issues facing the human condition. In presenting a roadmap for a new direction, he does not attack governments, politicians, or divergent points of view. Rather he explores the deep cause of human misery in a search for the key that unlocks the human condition. In a voice reminiscent of Tom Payne’s Common Sense, Rennie Davis takes your audience on a spellbinding journey to arrive at the central event of this time—the time of the earth—the defining juncture of this generation.

Rennie Davis: In the 1960s, Rennie Davis was the coordinator of America’s largest coalition of anti-war and civil rights organizations of that era. He was a founder of Students for a Democratic Society, the most influential student organization of his generation. He organized the historic protest demonstration at the 1968 Democratic Convention, described by a Presidential commission as a ‘police riot’—an event watched by more people than viewed the first man landing on the moon. He also organized the largest arrest in American history when a Washington, D.C. stadium was turned into a temporary prison for anti-war protesters arrested for massive civil disobedience. He was one of the Chicago 7, described by the NY Times as "the most significant political trial in U.S. history." His leadership was instrumental to the success of a nation wide student strike in which 90% of American colleges and universities closed after four students were shot and killed by National Guard troops at Kent State. Today, he remains a recognized spokesman for his generation, featured on Larry King Live, the CBS Legend Series, Barbara Walters, VHI, CNN and numerous other national media.

Rennie Davis is currently on a nationwide university tour presenting a new global vision.

Numerous public surveys have shown the high interest on today’s college campuses in the student movement of the 1960s. Rennie Davis brings an historical overview of what happened in that earlier time. He describes the events that led to the end of that time (the John Lennon deportation stage) as well as the event that launched its beginning (a Greensboro sit-in.) His message today is not about the past, but about the present generation now residing on America’s college campuses. He says, "the big event is not behind us but still in front of us." For Rennie Davis, the time of the earth is the event that will re-define this generation and its future.

Speaker Profile: This campus presentation invokes the experience of a great family feast that nourishes the human promise to awaken. Inspired by humanity’s enduring wisdoms, Rennie Davis is dedicated to co-creating with today’s youth generation a path out of destruction. Infusing respect and community into a modern fearful world, he presents a new direction for a challenged time.

Here are selected excerpts from An Evening with Rennie Davis:

Lessons From The ‘60s: "In the 1960s, the war in Vietnam served our generation as a unifying issue. With a unifying issue, it became possible to bring thousands of diverse organizations and tens of millions of students and adults into a single coalition. Unlike the historical junctures of the Renaissance and the 1960s, today’s constituency for a new humanity is greater in size and wiser in understanding than any previous historical period. Nevertheless, neither our global enormity nor our potential to reshape the human condition is apparent—not to ourselves and not to the world. That invisibility is about to change."

War In Iraq: "The Middle East, terrorism and the war in Iraq are not the unifying issues for a new humanity. Another event, altogether unexpected, is emerging. Until now, we have had no single focus for inspiring a new global direction. There has been no unifying purpose where the roots go deep into our hearts, touching our humanity and causing us to seek common ground rather than divide and splinter apart. Nuclear proliferation, the war in Iraq and other pressing human issues are about to be overshadowed by the time of the earth."

The Time of the Earth: "There is now emerging a new event. The planet herself will re-define this historic crossroads. The unifying issue for this generation will arrive in our lives naturally and decisively. The time of the earth is also the time of humanity. The earth is evolving and so must the human race. If you live on the earth today, you can expect to make this discovery yourself. It will not be necessary for anyone to tell you evolution is at the crossroads. Common sense will tell you."

Global Perspective: "People admit the strangeness in their growing sense of connection among the world’s troubling events. The suspicion grows nevertheless that a connection is operating in our world-wide terrorism, teenage violence, child kidnappings, killer viruses, food insecurity, ethnic cleansing, weapons of mass destruction, United Nation breakdowns and the fires, winds, floods, tsunamis, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes and global warming that challenge a new century. To suggest connections among previously unrelated events may trouble the rational scientist but when satisfactory answers cannot be found in science, sociology, psychology, or history, the search to understand what threatens humanity becomes a new global agenda. Recent discoveries in quantum physics deliver a new understanding about the origin of our troubled world. In the greatest discovery in human history, this generation is about to realize the origin of our misery is not at all what we commonly believe."

Community: "The ‘Earthome’ is an example of exceptionally affordable, fire-proof housing with elegant designs placed within walking distance of environmentally sound manufacturing facilities, shops, business offices and gardens of every variety. Contributing to the global economy, a new human community is not dependent on the global economy. Instead, it is self-sufficient, mobile and thriving. This thriving self-sufficient concept becomes feasible with the introduction of certain emerging technologies. With energy that is produced on-site and basically free, the community is off-the-grid while former energy budgets are re-directed to support other purposes. Vehicle fuels and food are also produced on-site. With the practical introduction of the self-sufficient community, people can experience an evolution of living as they create a new earth relation. The most important component of a new humanity community is not its technology but its new stage of awareness. When entering a new humanity community, there is a ritual for every guest and resident. Blame is left at the door. Everyone puts blame aside when approaching the community’s gate. Instead of blame, a new humanity is the decision to acknowledge one’s creative power to author your own life rather than deny your power with victim and blame."

Evolution at the Crossroads: An evening with Rennie Davis engages students in a simulating and inspiring adventure. Drawing upon recent discoveries in quantum physics that demonstrate the building blocks of this world shape shift and respond to human perception, the greatest discovery of this generation—as significant as Copernicus’s discovery that the earth orbited the sun—is now appearing in the world. It is based on the understanding of how this world works. The world around us is created from our own thoughts and vision. In a psychological construct, how we see others is how we see ourselves. How we see ourselves is how we experience our world. In the discovery that humanity is creating its own fearful world out of its own internal fears, a door opens into the deep understanding of Mahatma Gandhi: if you want to change the world, you have to first change yourself."

The Vision: Does the human belief in fear, distrust and separation sit at the core of the modern crisis? When blaming others, do we turn our power over? Do we create a world of victim in how we see the world? Does ‘power to the people’ require the re-scripting of a political process that is built upon attack and blame? When a person walks easily in anyone’s shoes, is it possible to create options without the need to make other’s wrong?

When a person first discovers the time of the earth, they may feel the constriction of fear. A new humanity transforms that fear into hope. In the hope of a new generation, the promise to re-script the human condition becomes possible. Millions of people seek alternatives to today’s fearful world. Unknowns and uncertainties about today’s weather challenges and melting glaciers combined with intensifying human conflicts increase the value of these alternatives. New humanity communities are now developing as a result, with promise for generating an outpouring of options. A new humanity is a vision that pulls like a magnet on those that would embrace the journey of evolution, unlock an age of discovery, inspire a new respect for life and the earth and realize that all human experiences are created out of our own internal beliefs.

Breakthrough Technologies: Rennie Davis also presents a wide range of recent discoveries that could change the daily life and basic understanding of everyone on earth were they to become available to the public. Each of these technologies—many of them publicly introduced for the first time on this national tour—presently exist, hidden in an inventor’s garage or basement, creating options to energy depletion, ‘incurable’ diseases, water contamination, food deprivation, and unaffordable housing.

Among the breakthrough discoveries presented by this tour:

  • Small, affordable power stations able to power a home or business wirelessly, operating from magnets or the electromagnetic spectrum
  • New health strategies able to re-regenerate tissue and cells safely and without drugs, based on new understandings of precise frequencies delivered non-invasively to the human body
  • Technology to pump sea water 1500 miles for the cost of the pipeline, desalinating the water as it goes
  • Technology to convert every category of waste (except nuclear) into a safe material that can be fabricated into virtually any consumer product currently made from wood or concrete
  • Devices to transmit a frequency to a fuel line, converting high emission vehicles into low emission vehicles that pay for the technology costs from fuel savings while returning the air to the condition of a pre-industrial age
  • Cost-effective organic agricultural technologies including inexpensive, mobile green houses and ‘energy sprays’ that create an explosion of micro-organisms to regenerate depleted soil for nutrient rich food production in any region.

Earth Guardian Day: An Evening with Rennie Davis is often followed by an ‘Earth Guardian Day’—a one day event for students wanting to develop further their own talents and abilities to nourish and support the earth. The earth is not an inanimate object as many people believe. The earth possesses its own DNA drawn from plant and animal DNA. The earth is more than a living organism. She is self-aware. Native Americans and many other traditional people knew this. Whenever our ancestors have lived close to the earth, woke with the sun and went to sleep with the sun’s passing—where people’s lives respected the cycles of nature—there were always among them shamans, medicine men and intuitive people who could talk with the earth. Many ancestors who talked with the earth also discovered the earth could talk back.

Today’s earth is traveling a difficult path. Without changing direction, she could loose her atmosphere and go the way of Mars. Many factors are contributing to this potentially looming death, including the powerful drone of human thought, the weight of large cities on earth plates and the decline of volcanic activity necessary for the earth’s core and atmosphere to survive. Nourishing and supporting the earth in her time of challenge is a dream held by many people. The Earth Guardian Day brings a unique support to those who hold this dream.

For students that have wanted to access their own latent abilities to talk with the earth, make rain, hear incoming earth changes before they arrive and nourish and aid the earth in her time of challenge, the Earth Guardian Day uncovers their own latent earth abilities and turns them into actual abilities for the time of the earth.

Biographical Sketch

Rennie Davis: In the 1960s, he was the coordinator of the largest anti-war and civil rights coalition in the United States and one of the Chicago 7. He organized many of this country’s most significant political demonstrations, including the anti-war protests at the Chicago Democratic Convention.
